Straddling the Continental Divide at 1,440 meters (4,662 ft), the Monteverde Cloud Forest offers one of the most interesting places to visit in Costa Rica. It offers more than 100 species of mammals, over 400 species of birds, 30 kinds of hummingbirds, tens of thousands of insect species (over 5000 species of moths), and 2,500 species of plants (420 kinds of orchids). The area is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the New World Tropics.
Canopy Tour: Flying through 15 cables and 18 platforms with an optional Tarzan Swing at the end of the adventure, enjoying one of the longest Canopy Tours in Costa Rica. It is the only canopy tour located inside the Monteverde Cloud Forest.
Hanging Bridges: Tree Top Walkways consist of a 1.9-mile (approximately 3 kilometers) trail that crosses through the Monteverde Cloud Forest. You will walk on eight different bridges with various lengths ranging between 150 ft (50 meters) up to 510 ft (170 meters) and altitudes ranging between 36 ft (12 meters) up to 180 ft (60 meters). This tour is suitable for people of all ages. The duration of the hike usually takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.
Bring hiking shoes and a jacket as it can get cool, a camera and insect repellent, and in the rainy season, a rain jacket and hat.
