La Paila is named for the antique sugar cauldrons that are used throughout its grounds. These were used in the colonial sugarcane industry by the Spaniards. La Paila is unique in several ways that you won’t find in other villas:
La Paila is staffed with a husband-wife team who will do all your laundry, cooking, and housekeeping as well as maintain the pool and gardens. Relax and enjoy yourself! (Staff included in the rental fee)
La Paila has a huge, open-air living room without walls! You are directly connected to nature and the beautiful weather that Costa Rica is famous for, the views and the swimming pool which is just feet from the living room! All the bedrooms are secure and air-conditioned.
Sitting up high and about a mile back from Carrillo Beach, La Paila has a spectacular, panoramic, western view of Samara Bay and the Pacific with spectacular sunsets. Its location gives you excellent breezes and cooler temperatures than in the valleys. It has mountain views to the north of the adjacent teak plantation.
The house is appointed with local artworks and furnishings and it was designed by a Costa Rican architect in the traditional colonial hacienda style. And with the local Tico caretakers on-site and a Tica cook, you will get an authentic taste of Costa Rica that few other villas can provide!
Very family-friendly! Many of our guests are families and the villa offers an entertainment center and many games, plus a fantastic pool! It has large lawn areas to run around on and the beach is 5 minutes away! There is a loved-by-all pet Labrador retriever that will keep the house safe. The villa is mostly handicap accessible. Monkeys visit regularly and flocks of parrots fly by twice a day!
