Samara Hike

The naturalist will begin your hike on an old cattle farm just 8 minutes from downtown Samara, continue through a mango plantation before entering the Dry Tropical Forest. Here you will learn about the native plants and animals, as well as the rich and interesting history of the native peoples who inhabited the land long before the time of Columbus. This is a Blue Zone area, one of five in the world where people live the longest and are the happiest. Many questions will be answered as to diet, exercise and lifestyle contribute to the overall wellness of our elders.

The trails are a moderate hike keeping the natural beauty of the area in mind. You will be treated to the amazing view, first growth jungles and have the opportunities to see animals and insects such as monkeys, iguanas, Coiates, spiders and snakes. You will also learn about the amazing plant life in the area.
