Explore Samara Horse Tours is the passion of Martine and Heiner who have 7 beautiful horses ready to take you on a wonderful ride to off-the-beaten-path destinations near Samara. More horses are available for large group rides.

Heiner was born in Samara and is looking forward to sharing his hometown and local knowledge with you as he guides you on several different tours of 1 1/2, 2 1/2, and 3 1/2 hour tours.

2 1/2 hour Mountain and Beach Tour

Ride through the jungle up a low rise mountain to the top offering amazing ocean views, relax and enjoy the views, fresh in-season fruits, and water. After a rest, you will go back down and do a river crossing before arriving at the and secluded Buenavista Beach. This is a wonderful early morning or afternoon sunset tour. Keep your eyes open, if you are lucky you might spot some turtles coming ashore to lay eggs.

3 1/2 hour Barrigona Beach Tour

The white sand beach of Playa Barrigonna with crystal clear water is your destination on this tour. A 10km from Samara with jungle riding and river crossings. Once you arrive at the beach you can relax with fresh fruits and cold water. On the return to Samara, you will take a different path and reach Play Buenavista offing experienced riders the opportunity to gallop along this 3 km deserted beach before your final river crossing and return home.

3 1/2 hour Waterfall Tour (May-January Only)

Everyone loves waterfalls and what better way than to visit one on horseback. This 3 1/2 hour ride starts by crossing Playa Samara to a jungle trail that will lead to the waterfall. At the waterfall, there is a natural swimming hole if you feel like jumping in to cool off. Relax and enjoy the sounds of nature along with fresh fruits and water before returning to Samara.

5 hour Waterfall Tour with Lunch (May-January Only)

Ride along Samara beach to the jungle trails that will lead you to the waterfall and swimming hole in Santo Domingo. After a refreshing dip, enjoy fresh fruits and water while listening to the soothing sounds of nature you will continue on to the local restaurant where you will be treated to a typical Costa Rican Casado lunch with beef, fish, chicken, vegetarian and a natural babida before returning to Samara.
