Have fun as you paddle through the safe rolling waves and then play around in tranquil waters or enjoy paddling down the river! SUP in Samara or Carrillo. You’ll receive a thorough safety lesson and get fitted for your equipment, including helmets, lifejackets, and paddles. Practice with your guide and then enjoy a beautiful 2.5-hour Stand Up Paddle trip to Isla Chora, around the bays of Samara Beach or Carrillo Beach, or catch the sunset from out in the waters of Costa Rica’s picturesque Guanacaste province. River SUP is also an option if you would like to see more nature.

River Kayak

Travel down the Ora River and experience unspoiled Costa Rica from the mountains to the sea. You have the opportunity to see monkeys, iguanas, frogs, snakes, and more than 50 species of birds. Go back in time, deep inside the mangrove jungle. This slow meandering tour is slow-flowing and great for ages 4-75. This tour can be done in single or double kayaks.

Surf Lessons

Daily before and after high tide $45-$60 plus taxes, depending on operator available
Playa Samara and Carrillo are the perfect places to learn to surf or to get back up on your board. With natural reefs at each end of our cove to keep the breaks under control, no undertow, sandy bottom, and warm waters, it makes it safe for all ages and abilities.  For the experienced surfer, transport is available to other beaches. Bring a friend and have some fun. Lessons are done before or after high tide so lessons can be in the morning or the afternoon, depending on the tides.

Near Shore Fishing

Let your adventure begin. Catch your dinner or catch and release. Just minutes from the shores of Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo is world-class fishing for Red Snapper, Tuna, Corvina, Grouper, Roosterfish, and much more. The boats and captains offer all the equipment needed. Boats from 15’ to 32’ for 1 to 6 people. Book for full or half-day fishing.

Sunset Catamaran Excursion

This is a perfect way to see the spectacular sunsets of Samara. Book the catamaran with a captain for the beginning of your romantic evening. Want to pop “the” question? Last evening in town? Dolphin Watching & Snorkeling

Head out on this 3-hour tour to see pods of Dolphins and anything else you can spot. Maybe whales, giant mantas, and more. After you have searched for the dolphins, you will be able to snorkel and see the wonderful and colorful fish underwater. Bring your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses & a camera.

Ocean Kayak & Snorkeling

Isla Chora is a small island 20-45 minute paddle from Playa Samara depending and where you launch from. Once there you will discover a secluded white sand beach and wonderful snorkeling just off the beach in warm waters teeming with tropical fish. Onshore, you will be treated to beverages and fresh fruits, but watch out, some of the local inhabitants of Isla Chora like large iguanas and raccoons may try and help themselves to your food.
